[REVIEW] Sephora Creamy Lip Stain in #4 Endless Purple

Hello, ladies!

I once had obsession for dark vampy red lipstick, and you might have read my review on Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick in Cherry Bomb.

Yet, I still feel incomplete if I am not having purple lipstick in my purse. After I finished my NARS Tonkin (I know, it broke my bank like crazy but only lasted for 3 months...what!?? Now you see that I loved it too much).

When I attended the opening Sephora Indonesia event at Plaza Indonesia last month, I decided to give a shot to another vampy lipstick, named Sephora Creamy Lip Stain in Endless Purple.

The color is so intense and opaque. The stain power is awesome, even after rubbing my hand really hard, the stain stays

In terms of packaging and texture, it reminds me a lot to NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream. The idea is almost the same. A lip cream that glides so easily on lips and dries to matte finish. But I would say that this Sephora Creamy Lip Stain will give a super opaque and super matte in one swipe application. Be careful in applying as it easily goes out from your lipline. Perhaps a lip liner could help to create a 'frame' before you painting your lips with this baby.

PROS (+)
> Glides on very easily. The texture is creamier than NYX SMLC
> Long lasting? It is! I don't have to touch up for whole day. The stain left after lunch is still considerably pretty.
> Opaque color that nothing beats!
> It's not as drying as NYX SLMC. As with NYX, I found my lips a bit streaky after more than 4 hours. This one is not.
> The color is so intense and suits any skin tone. I would say, my lips will just stand out even if I am not wearing anything else on face.
> Easy to get (you now can grab this by run to Sephora store, not necessarily fly to Singapore :p)

CONS (-)
> Compare to NYX SLMC, you may feel this one's quite pricey (IDR 230ish)
> May not suitable for daily and natural make up. You got to have guts ;)

Pigmenation and easy application. This lip stain steals my heart like never before

Other than that, I think this one is currently my most favorite. I just need to be careful wearing this to office by not putting a heavy eye make up. Should you interested in other colour, try no. 1 (classic red, for retro 60s look) and no. 2 (nude beige, for any-occassion mood).

See you in my next review!

~XOXO~

Make Over Le Secret Fantaisie Launching Event Report (EOTD with the Freebies)

On Tuesday, 20 May 2014, I was attending the Make Over event when they launched the Spring/Summer Make Up Collection called "Le Secret Fantaisie" at the Le Meridien Hotel, Jakarta.

No less than 40 beauty bloggers came (I was too lazy to count exactly :p), and as this was my second event after self-claiming as one of Indonesian beauty bloggers, I was so happy since I met new friends to share the same passion with me. I wasn't being to aggressive since I was quite a newbie, I paid attention to what they're doing and adapting myself (as much as I have to) as they're mostly at they're early twenties or even younger (well, I know how OLD I am now, though they surprisingly thought that I was 22 *play Taylor Swift's song immediately* *bitch-slapped*)

First of all, I loved how Make Over decorated the room and table arrangement. It was very detailed, with a glass jar of lollipops (or candies) with each of our name tag, showing us where to sit. Other words, they were giving us opportunity to get-to-know-stranger, rather than sitting with the-person-that-you-already-know :) The event started with the launching of Spring/Summer make up collection labelled Le Secret Fantaisie, along with the short video that showing the 4 variants of Make Over Trivia Eye Shadow, including 1 lip color. They are (see picture below, from left to right):

Dolly Crush "The Doll" : Feminine pretty charming lovely chic playful adorable dainty
Magical Fairy Tale "The Flamboyant" : Lively fresh whimsical vivid feisty warm vibrant fascinating.
Enchanting Nude Spell "The Lady" : Natural classy elegant simple enchanting ladylike classic sophisticated.
Love At First Sight "The Bombshell" : Glamorous irresistible seductive exquisite mysterious stunning daring bold.

In this event, Make Over also invited Mr. Wilson Eng, a prominent MUA from Singapore. He demonstrated the tutorial using this collection on model.

The result was very sheer soft eye make up but pretty, especially because the model has pale skin. As for me or many Indonesians, it will be a bit hard to apply this kind of look. We should add some more bold colors to make our eyes stand out.

Make Over also held the make up competition and selfie competition to be upload in their Instagram account (@makeoverid) and twitter. I tried to do some experiments during the show, but I am still amateur on eye make up, so the result was disappointing so-so :)

The picture above shows me eye make up using Enchanting Nude Spell "The Lady", the one that most suitable for daily look. Apparently I found that the brown color isn't too intense to fulfill my liking. So, for this shade, I'll pass. This one was included in the freebies that I got after the event.

Yesterday, when I was attending a relative's wedding reception, I tried the other palette that I got from the goodie bag. It is the Magical Fairy Tale "The Flamboyant". I personally hesitate to pick the blue eyeshadow, as I thought it would be contrast with my skin color. But, I found that the 'blue' in this palette is rather pretty and matches to any skin tone.

Last but not least, I enjoyed the event and thanked Make Over for the invitation. Besides bringing home some good new stuff from Make Over, there was also a photo booth so I got 3 pictures with other beauty bloggers. Hey, I feel young! :D

See you soon on the next post ~xoxo~

IBB Make Up Challenge February 2014: Summer Fairytale

Hello fabulous ladies,

Apologize for my absence in about a month, I am blaming the heavy workload at office -- okay, make sure my boss can't read this :-). I have been extremely tired lately, as I jumped to one of IBB member's post about this. Yes, now you believe that I have been disappeared for THAT long because I just noticed the IBB MUC for February a couple of days ago. Four days before February's gone.

At first sight, I can tell that I LOVE the poster!

Yes, I've been a true big fan of Disney Princess thingy (well, who doesn't?). My first western song that I could clearly spell and remember when I was 7 was A Whole New World of Aladdin. I was also witnessing how nasty Ariel in The Little Mermaid, how lovely Belle in Beauty and the Beast and how strong is the Pocahontas. I also watched the Disney Classic collection; Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, you name it. Seeing this poster, it reminds me of the picture in The Little Mermaid comic's cover, with slight difference because it was underwater :)

Now, back to the theme of this month's MUC. Okay, first of all, this is my first time joining in MUC, I am not that confident because what I've seen from other bloggers so far, they created the extravagant look which I couldn't do. My make up look will still be natural; beigey, nude, or rosy. So, this time, instead of comparing myself with one of the Disney's princesses, I pick the example of human, real human, with rosy fairy look (see above). Let's see what I can do for this challenge.

Etude House Cotton Fit BB

As one of the requirement for the late post of MUC, I should include one of Etude House's products. This time I am using BB Cream Precious Mineral Cotton Fit in W24 Honey Beige.

It is the sister of Etude BB Precious Mineral Bright Fit which is so popular. Though this one is designed for oily skin, but for the coverage and longevity, I can say that Bright Fit is a bit better than Cotton Fit. But yes, for oil control, this one is the winner.

So, here's the rose fairy created.

I began with the eyes. I am using one of the palettes from Sephora Pret A Porter Palette, that was released in Summer 2012. I bought it in Sephora Pavilion KL for about MYR 150 (IDR 450,000). Quite cheap considering that I got 6 palettes, each consists of 4 eyeshadows, 2 lipglosses and 1 blush on. The palette that I use here is the pink one (picture shown below is not mine. I almost finish the two colors in the middle :p

See the review here

By using the subtle gold on lid, magenta on lid, taupe on the outer corner, and silvery white as highlighter

VOILA!

These are what I look like. I didn't do anything with my hair, just pull half of it to the back. Surprisingly, the wave that I got from digital perm in NOVEMBER last year is still there. Even better because it isn't as curly as in the beginning. Happy!

So here are the list of stuff that I use:
  • Benefit POREfessional primer
  • Etude House Precious Mineral Cotton Fit BB Cream in W24 Honey Beige
  • MAC Select Sheer Powder NC30 (both BB cream and powder applied with Coastal Scent Bionic Flat Top Brush --> try this, it's cheap and almost similar to Sigma F80!)
  • NARS Blush in Angelika
  • Maybelline Great Lash Lots of Lashes Mascara in Very Black
  • Too Faced Shadow Insurance
  • TheBalm Mary Lou-manizer as highlighter
  • Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Rose Velvet
  • Sorry forgot to attach in the picture -- Revlon Colorstay Gel Liner in Charcoal
